Prof. Dr. Nirmal Surya

Neurologist at Bombay Hospital & Saifee Hospital, Mumbai

Prof. Dr. Nirmal Surya (DNB, MD, MBBS) is the Past President of the Indian Academy of Neurology, Founder President of the Indian Federation of Neurorehabilitation, and Founder Trustee & Chairman of the Epilepsy Foundation, Mumbai, India. With over 30 years of experience, his areas of expertise include neurorehabilitation, stroke, and epilepsy. Professor Surya has chaired a large number of seminars, workshops, conferences, and symposia in the field of neurology & neurorehabilitation. From a clinical standpoint, Dr. Lim is deeply engrossed in understanding how physical function influences the overall quality of life for individuals grappling with chronic pain and disability. His work not only contributes to the academic understanding of these phenomena but also holds practical implications for improving the well-being of those experiencing such challenges.

Dr. Sabahat Asim Wasti

Staff Physician, Neurology, Neurological Institute, Cleveland Clinic, Abu Dhabi

Dr. Sabahat Asim Wasti is a Staff Physician in the Neurological Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. Dr. Wasti received his bachelors degree in Medicine and Surgery from Khyber Medical College Peshawar, Pakistan and then moved to the United Kingdom for postgraduate studies in 1984. After obtaining the membership of Royal College of Ireland, he completed Rehabilitation Medicine training at Leeds Teaching Hospital. He then became a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, Sheffield UK, where he served for nearly nine years before moving to the United Arab Emirates to take up the position of Senior Consultant Post in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in 2007. He currently serves as Regional VP, WFNR (Gulf Region), Chair Service Development SIG and Co-Chair Ethics SIG, WFNR. He has also served as Chair of several conferences and frequently delivers invited lectures. Dr. Landry brings with him a wealth of knowledge, experience, and a commitment to the transformative power of physiotherapy. His dedication to innovation and the pursuit of excellence aligns seamlessly with the ethos of RASCON-24.

Mr. Omar Ibrahim Bani Mustafa

Speech Language Pathologist

Mr. Omar Bani Mustafa is a dedicated Speech Therapist currently contributing to the Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy department at Alain Hospital, a SEHA (Abu Dhabi Health Services Company) facility. His professional journey has been marked by valuable experiences and expertise in the field. Omar’s clinical expertise spans various settings, including schools, acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient rehabilitation. His proficiency encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as articulation/phonological processing, receptive/expressive and pragmatic language disorders, Dysphagia, Voice disorders, and fluency issues. This diverse experience showcases Omar’s versatility and ability to address a wide range of speech and language challenges across different contexts.
